COMPATIBILITY REVIEW
How TrueProof compatibility is evaluated
01 · Review official plugin documentation
Confirm documented plugin behaviour before making multilingual compatibility claims.
02 · Identify text shown to visitors
Check whether the documented features display text that visitors can read.
03 · Separate content from functionality
Structure, settings, logic, integrations and runtime behaviour are not treated as translatable content unless they include specific visible text.
04 · Confirm what can be translated
List supported content only after specific text shown to visitors has been identified and can be validated.
PLUGIN INFORMATION
What the plugin does
Plugin capabilities
- Recent-activity notification bubbles sourced from supported WordPress data sources (Real Data Mode), including WooCommerce orders and approved comments/reviews; Pro additionally supports Easy Digital Downloads sales and new-user registrations.
- Two data modes: Real Data Mode (shows supported records from enabled sources) and Simulation Mode (preview-only) with a visible “Demo” badge always shown on simulated notifications.
- Frontend implementation uses vanilla JavaScript (no jQuery dependency) and serves event data via the site’s REST endpoint; events are cached server-side for a few minutes.
- Widget display behavior is configurable via position, accent color, and timing controls, and free display scope can be limited to eligible pages or the front/posts page (per the provided description).
- Privacy/data handling: notification-source records are processed on the WordPress site and are not sent to TrueProof during normal use without license activation; the widget fetches event data from the site’s own REST endpoint.
- Name/location presentation controls: default new installs use fully anonymous display (“Someone”, with no location), with optional shortened or full-name modes; email-shaped values, address lines, and order totals are not included by the built-in sources (per the provided FAQ text).
- License activation/validation behavior: entering/periodically validating/deactivating a license posts the license key, home URL, and requested action to wptrueproof.com; standard network metadata is also received by the licensing service, and the request body does not include notification-source records.
TRANSLATION BOUNDARY
TrueProof capabilities and translatable content are documented separately.
Official documentation describes the plugin functionality, but does not currently identify specific text shown to visitors that can be translated.
A feature is not considered translatable unless it includes text that users can read.
