PLUGIN INFORMATION

What the plugin does

Plugin capabilities

  • Stores multiple additional authors for posts; the plugin output is handled by the theme via the `do_action( 'additional_authors_the_authors' )` hook by default.
  • Provides an optional auto-byline extension mode (off by default) that can extend a standard theme byline using the `additional_authors_auto_byline` filter (example: `add_filter( 'additional_authors_auto_byline', '__return_true' );`).
  • Supports integration with block themes by covering the `core/post-author` and `core/post-author-name` blocks when auto-byline extension is enabled.
  • Supports integration with classic themes by extending the output of `the_author()` and `the_author_posts_link()` template tags when auto-byline extension is enabled.
  • Exposes an action hook `do_action( 'additional_authors_the_authors_posts_links' )` for outputting per-author links when a classic theme wraps `get_the_author()` in its own link.
  • Provides filters to customize how additional author names are joined: `additional_authors_byline_separator` (default `, `) and `additional_authors_byline_suffix` (to build the appended string).

TRANSLATION BOUNDARY

Additional Authors capabilities and translatable content are documented separately.

Official documentation describes the plugin functionality, but does not currently identify specific text shown to visitors that can be translated.

A feature is not considered translatable unless it includes text that users can read.
