- Security finding reporting and alerting: organizes findings into malware detections and other security findings (integrity/vulnerability/reputation), and can send email alerts to the WordPress administrator via `wp_mail` when completed scans contain unresolved security findings (up to 20 optional recipients).
- Engine definitions update behavior and caching: scans check a Maltrail release digest and download definitions only when changed; if an update fails, the last verified cache is kept, and there is an option to use cached Maltrail definitions without updating under Antimalware > Settings > Engine and storage.
- FTP/FTPS read-only remote scanning support: when the PHP FTP extension is enabled, administrators can scan a credential-free `ftps://host/path` URL (with `AMWSCAN_FTP_PASSWORD` provided via the WordPress PHP process environment when needed); remote scans are read-only and passwords are not stored in WordPress.
