- Prevents exposure of original high-resolution image URLs in page markup by using a live “ reconstruction approach after the image enters the viewport.
- Uses a REST endpoint to provide a reconstruction map, protected by a time-limited HMAC token and mitigated with per-IP rate limiting to reduce map enumeration.
- Blocks common scraper/hotlinking patterns by ensuring HTML contains only the watermarked low-res image (and not a plain hi-res URL), and by making right-click “Save image” ineffective because the hi-res is not delivered as a file.
- Provides bulk protect/unprotect controls in the Media Library, including a protection status column and filtering in list/grid modes.
- Supports WooCommerce product gallery protection by routing the product gallery zoom link and thumbnails to the protected copy rather than the original file (with some WooCommerce image locations stated as covered by Bender Pro, not the free plugin).
