PLUGIN INFORMATION
What the plugin does
Plugin capabilities
- Enforces password expiration by tracking each user’s last password reset date and requiring password resets after a configurable maximum age (default 90 days; configurable between 1 and 365 days).
- Applies expiration rules to selected user roles (default: all non-Administrator roles), with role selection configurable in plugin settings.
- Does not immediately expire existing users on installation; expiration tracking begins once a user registers or resets their password after the plugin is active.
- Prevents password reuse: when a user’s password expires and they are prompted to reset it, they cannot reuse the same password from the prior cycle.
- Redirects users with expired passwords to the password reset screen upon sign-in.
- Provides an access-control filter (`eup_submenu_access`) to control which capability is required to view the plugin settings page (default capability: `manage_options`).
TRANSLATION BOUNDARY
Expire User Passwords capabilities and translatable content are documented separately.
Official documentation describes the plugin functionality, but does not currently identify specific text shown to visitors that can be translated.
A feature is not considered translatable unless it includes text that users can read.
