PLUGIN INFORMATION
What the plugin does
Plugin capabilities
- Registers REST API post-meta keys for Mitch-written SEO fields: `_mitch_seo_title`, `_mitch_seo_metadesc`, and `_mitch_jsonld` (required so WordPress REST can accept writes to these meta keys).
- Applies approved SEO fixes via the WordPress REST API using authenticated requests only (requires an authenticated user with permission to edit the post; no public endpoint).
- Renders Mitch-provided SEO values through the currently active SEO plugin’s own output (Yoast SEO, Rank Math, All in One SEO, SEOPress) or renders standalone when no SEO plugin is active.
- Does not overwrite the active SEO plugin’s own stored fields; Mitch changes are described as reversible from the Mitch dashboard.
- Exposes an authenticated REST endpoint `wp-json/mitch/v1/status` (used for compatibility/connection context) and relies on getmitch.ai to initiate the authenticated REST calls.
- If the plugin is deactivated or deleted, the active SEO plugin (or WordPress core) resumes rendering its own title/description immediately; Mitch-written meta values are preserved but no longer rendered by Mitch.
