PLUGIN INFORMATION
What the plugin does
Plugin capabilities
- Connects WordPress to Nimba SMS to send SMS and WhatsApp messages (and mentions email as a future channel).
- WooCommerce integration: per order status (processing, completed, cancelled) can enable SMS, WhatsApp, or both, with customizable message templates; if WhatsApp is the only enabled channel and sending fails, SMS is sent automatically as a fallback.
- WhatsApp integration: sends messages using Meta-approved WhatsApp Business templates created from the Nimba SMS dashboard, with dynamic variables.
- WordPress notifications: can send SMS to the administrator on new user registration or new comment.
- Manual sending from the WordPress admin: send SMS or a WhatsApp template message to one or several numbers.
- Send log with delivery status history updated in real time via a configurable Nimba SMS delivery webhook (REST endpoint `nimbasms/v1/webhook`, protected by a secret token).
- Developer-facing API: provides functions `nimbasms_send( $to, $message )` and `nimbasms_send_whatsapp( $to, $template, $variables )`, plus hooks such as `nimbasms_send_payload`, `nimbasms_after_send`, `nimbasms_wc_templates`, and `nimbasms_webhook_received`.
- Requires Nimba SMS account credentials (SERVICE ID and SECRET TOKEN) and an approved sender name; plugin communicates with Nimba SMS API to send messages and retrieve account balance and sender names.
TRANSLATION BOUNDARY
Nimba SMS capabilities and translatable content are documented separately.
