What the plugin does
Plugin capabilities
- Brute-force protection by recording failed login attempts and temporarily blocking further access to the wp-login.php page after a configurable threshold (defaults: five failures, then one-hour block).
- Automatic reset of the failed-attempt lockdown count for an IP after a successful login by the same user.
- IP-based tracking using the client IP from $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'] to identify the source of login attempts.
- Provides hooks/filters to customize behavior: alter the requesting IP (cd_sll_pre_ip via simple_login_lockdown_ip), whitelist IPs before incrementing counts (simple_login_lockdown_allow_ip), prevent the login page from terminating when blocked (simple_login_lockdown_should_die), and react to count-reached and blocked-attempt events (simple_login_lockdown_count_reached, simple_login_lockdown_attempt).
- Allows customization of the HTTP response code returned when a temporarily blacklisted IP attempts to log in (simple_login_lockdown_response).
- Allows customization of the time-limit values shown in the admin login-lockdown time dropdown (simple_login_lockdown_time_values).
TRANSLATION BOUNDARY
