- Defines text/HTML shortcuts that are replaced with configured replacement text/HTML when rendering post content.
- Applies replacements via WordPress content filters on-the-fly (does not modify what is stored in the database).
- By default, performs case-sensitive replacements, with an option/filter to make replacements case-insensitive.
- Supports limiting replacements to only one occurrence per term per processed piece of text (otherwise replaces all occurrences by default).
- Can enable text replacement for comments (disabled by default) and can optionally include comment text/excerpts via the relevant hooks/filters.
- Runs early in WordPress’s text filtering process by default, with the ability to adjust filter priority/behavior via provided hooks.
- By default, processes multiple output areas: `the_content`, `the_excerpt`, `widget_text`, and optionally comment-related filters; additional filters can be added via the “More filters” setting or the `c2c_text_replace_filters` hook.
- Does not match text inside HTML tags (e.g., tag names/attributes), so shortcuts won’t be expanded within tag markup.
