  • Supports use of shortcodes with other page builders via a shortcode generator available in the Understory plugin settings page.
  • Loads widget code from a specific Understory domain (widgets.understory.io) and uses server-side caching to deliver the widget code.
  • Fetches experience and event data from the Understory API when widgets load; experience availability is retrieved from the API and data is not cached within WordPress to keep visitor views up to date.
  • Loads experience- and event data from external Understory API endpoints hosted on AWS (execute-api domains listed in the plugin readme).
  • Provides four widget types: Understory Booking Widget (including an “all experiences” variant), Understory Experiences Widget, Understory Availability Widget, and Understory Gift Card Widget.
