  • Resizes uploaded images to fit configured dimensions and generates a corresponding thumbnail image.
  • Provides template tags to render author photos and thumbnails in post loops and comment loops: userphoto_the_author_photo(), userphoto_the_author_thumbnail(), userphoto_comment_author_photo(), userphoto_comment_author_thumbnail().
  • Supports rendering user photos outside the author/comment loops by passing a user object, user ID, or user login name into functions userphoto() and userphoto_thumbnail().
  • Renders an tag for the photo output and allows customization via parameters ($before, $after, $attributes, $default_src) that affect prefix/suffix text, HTML attributes, and fallback source behavior.
  • Includes a boolean helper userphoto_exists($user) to check whether a user has a stored photo (accepts user object, ID, or login name).
  • Optionally integrates with WordPress avatar display as fallback/override: “Serve Avatar as Fallback” and “Override Avatar with User Photo” (both require Discussion → “Avatar Display” to be set to “Show”).
