  • Uses an embed approach that does not rely on JavaScript (“without using JS”).
  • When embedding PDFs, relies on browser/plugin behavior for rendering; if the embedded PDF cannot be displayed, a fallback download link is used (noted for Internet Explorer without a required PDF plugin).
  • Does not support embedding PDFs hosted on other websites (cross-origin/remote hosting) and does not work if you need to change parameters when using the basic “attachment URL on its own line” method (per description).
